Rodrigo de Matos has been an editorial cartoonist for the weekly newspaper Expresso (Portugal) since 2006. He currently publishes in its Economy section and in the online edition. Living in Macau (China) since 2009, he also collaborates with the newspapers Ponto Final (Portuguese) and Macau Daily Times (English).
de Matos’ first solo cartoon exhibition – “Humoralia” – was held at Albergue SCM, Macau, in 2012, the same year he released his first cartoon book: “Fatal Point”, a collection of the editorial cartoons. Born in Silva Porto (Angola) in 1975, de Matos lived to the age of 15 in Brazil, graduated in Journalism in Coimbra (Portugal) and then worked as a journalist in Lisbon for six years, before becoming a professional cartoonist and illustrator.
