Markus Grolik was born in Muinich. He attended the Meisterschule für Modegraphik and
worked as a painter for cinema posters.
Since 1995 he has been a freelance illustrator, cartoonist and author in Munich.

Among his clients are Carlsen, Duden, Bastai Lübbe, spiegel-online, Lappan, and dtv-junior.
Since 2009-2013 Editorial Cartoon for the HMD-Business Informatics
1995 and 2004, Winner, Independant Comic Award at the Comicsalon Erlangen.
2009  Grand prix of the papkinada ( Poland ).
2010  Winner, Alternative comic award at the 8th Int. Comics Festival of Belgrade
First prize at the XVI Golden Keg Cartooncontest in Slowaky.
2011 Price of Excellency of the 2. International Biennial Peking
2012 Premio speciale Sandro Carlesso at Umoristi a marostica;  Bronzen hat at the Knokke Heist Cartoonfestival.
2014 His collection of Cats&Cartoons is published by Lappan.
