Banks are Fragile. We Need to Make Them Strong

Anat Admati in “The Bankers’ New Clothes: co-authored with Martin Hellwig argues that we need to make banks strong again.  Bankers like Jamie Dimon have a vested interest in keeping banking just the way it is, which is the way it was prior to the financial crisis of 2007-2009.  New regulations which increase capital requirements are not the answer.  One simple answer to protect depositors is to increase equity ratios.
